Otis Berry, Sr. of Whitney passed away December 24, 2021 at the age of 73.

Otis was born in Waco, TX November 2, 1948. He was raised in the Waco area where he met and married his wife, Evelyn. The two were married for 53 years and had two sons. Otis bravely served his country in the United States Marine
Corps for many years, completing two tours of duty to Vietnam.  He loved music and was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps Band. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time on the lake.

Otis was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Nettie Berry; brothers, Walter Hardin and Robert Hardin; and his sister, Martha Berry Spears. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Berry of Whitney; sons, Otis Berry, Jr. and fiancé Arianna Ganci of Whitney; and Christopher Berry Sr., and wife Julie of Gatesville; two brothers, Johnny Berry and Jessie Berry; and two sisters, Lenora Hardin and Annette Berry, all of Waco; seven grandchildren, Christopher Berry, Jr., Totianna Berry and fiancé, Daryl Anderson, Mariah Berry and boyfriend, Matthew Lee, Kolbie Davis, Eli Berry, Jude Berry, and Zane Berry; five great grandchildren, Izayah Wiggins, Isaac Caffee, Cassius Anderson, Faith Anderson and Madelyn Lee; as well as, several nieces and nephews.

Dear Evelyn and Family, It was so many years ago that we all served together back in the 60’s and it was a great reunion we had visiting you both and our trip to D.C. and The Wall. I still have the photos and have shared them with other Marines that knew “Tex” over the years. Just want to say that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers since hearing this news. Otis at Veteran Affairs in Waco Tx . It is very saddened
to hear about his passing. He was very funny kept me laughing but didn’t play. Spoke alot about family.
