Norman Edward Lovorn, 56, a native of Waco, passed away on Saturday, November 21,2015.
Visitation – Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home
Services – Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10:30AM in the chapel at Lake Shore Funeral Home.
Norman was born on October 13, 1959 to the late John Henry and Norma Jean Allen Lovorn. Graduating from LaVega High School in 1979, Norman went on to attend Texas State Technical College and achieved his Associates Degree. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1987 and served during Desert Storm. Norman served his country honorably for over five years. Norman was known as a “jack of all trades”. He worked as a mechanic and in the HVAC and plumbing industries over the years, most recently he worked at Pilgrim’s Pride. Norman suffered a stroke nine years ago, but continued to work mowing several local cemeteries. Norman married the love of his life, Jan Elizabeth Porter, in May 7, 1982. A Master Mason, Norman was an active member of the George M. Denton Masonic Lodge #24 AF&AM, the Bellmead Lodge #1329 AF&AM and the Felix H Robertson Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp #129. He enjoyed all styles of music, his collection was very eclectic. Norman is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Norma Jean Lovorn and his brother, Alan Lovorn.
Norman is survived by his wife of over 33 years, Jan Lovorn; children, Megan Lovorn, John Lovorn, Daniel Lovorn, and Stephen Lovorn; along with numerous other loving family members.

Condolences for the family of “Norman Edward Lovorn”
Sadly on Saturday, we lost one of our Confederate compatriots, Corporal Norman Lovorn. Norman was a member of the Honor Guard for the Gen. Felix H. Robertson Camp #129 Sons of Confederate Veterans.
“I’ll eat when I’m hungry, I’ll drink when I’m dry,
If the Yankees don’t kill me, I’ll live until I die,
If the Yankees don’t kill me and cause me to mourn –
I am a Rebel Soldier and far from my home!”

Norman was a member of the George M Denton Masonic Lodge 24 and the Felix H. Robertson, Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 129, with me. He never said much but he was a tireless worker for both groups and he will be sorely missed by both groups.
Norman was a great friend to have. He was liked by all. He was very proud of his Confederate ancestry. He volunteered and worked hard on many diifferent things in Confederate groups.
He will be greatly missed

I’ve known Norman since attending school at LaVega. Norman was a good person and always friendly and cheerful. I enjoyed talking with Norman many times. He recently attended our class reunion where he and many LaVega classmates re-connected. My sincere sympathy for his immediate family and friends. May he and his family find peace during this difficult time.

I am truly sorry to hear of Norman’s passing. I went to school with him at LaVega. He was such a nice guy. Prayers for his wife and children during this time of mourning.

Praying that God will grant Norman’s family peace and comfort as they travel through this valley. I, too, went to La Vega with Norman and agree with all his other classmates have said. He was a funny, quiet, gentle soul. I’m so sorry for your loss.
