Nancy Lorraine Johnson

Nancy Lorraine Johnson, 55, of Waco, was called home to be with The Lord Monday, December 10, 2018, due to complications of a triple bypass.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15th, at Trinity Fellowship of Central Texas, 388 Cotton Belt Pkwy., in McGregor

Nancy was born to Henry and Ruth Vance the 25th of December 1962, in Hammond, Indiana. She graduated from Lampasas High School in 1981, and married her husband, of 37 years, Claudio G. Johnson in 1982. She lived happily and was most proud of and grateful to see the birth of her two grandchildren and her daughters grow.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, sister Cheryl Rogers, brother Dennis Vance, step father Eddie Perry Johnson, and granddaughter Adelaida Ranee Zuniga.

She leaves as her legacy her daughters, Heather Lorraine Sullivan and husband Kyle David Sullivan and April Ranee Johnson. She also leaves to cherish her memory seven siblings: Katrina and husband, Lloyd Perry, Jeffrey and wife, Cynthia Vance, Cindy Newhall, James M. and wife, Angela Vance, Jeanne Dotson, Linda and husband, Donald Day, and step-sister Barbara and husband, Everette Casper; sister-in-law, Ava Vance; niece, Samantha Vance; nephews, Christopher Vance, Henry Vance, Todd Vance; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Her children wish it to be known that their mother was a “walking Bible” who prayed daily and she loved The Lord. Her light isn’t gone from this world, it is shining from God’s Great Lighthouse and waiting for us all to join her in God’s Glory again.

The family wishes to offer their thanks to the parishioners of Trinity Fellowship for their kindness and generosity as well.

The family requests that any flowers or tributes be sent to 1306 Oaklawn St. Waco, TX 76705.

Condolence Messages

  1. Heather & family I’m so very sorry for your loss!

  2. Cheryle Brown-Anderson

So sorry to hear of the passing of my childhood friend Nancy Vance. I have a lot of great memories before they left California to move to Texas. And a few memories upon our family’s visit to Texas.
So sad we lost contact. Just recently got back in contact with a couple of siblings of the Vance family. My sincere condolences to the Johnson & Vance families. Until we meet again on the streets of Gold Nancy. I will forever cherish our childhood friendship. See you later, your friend forever Cheryle Brown-Anderson

  3. Heather & Family,

We are praying for you during this difficult time. Please feel free to call us if you need us. We love you all and will be checking on you.

    Rev. Mike & Angela Vance

  4. My condolences to the family and friends. May God grant you peace in this time of passing.

  5. My deepest condolences to the family. May God’s future promises at John 5:28,29 of an earthly resurrection and Revelation 21:3,4 of no more suffering or death bring you comfort. Until that time comes, God assures us at Psalm 34:18 that he “is close to the brokenhearted” and “saves those who are crushed in spirit.” So he understands your pain and grief and is eager to help you by giving you the strength you need to cope during this most difficult time. (Philippians 4:13)

  6. I would like to express my deep sympathy to the family and share some genuine comfort and my hope from God’s Word. In it he shows us that losing our loved ones was not part of his purpose for us. He promises that soon he will remove all the causes of suffering, pain, and mourning, and bring our loved ones back to us. (Psalm 37:9,10,29; John 5:38,29; Revelation 21:3,4)
Until that time comes, Jehovah God assures us at Psalm 34:18 that he “is close to the brokenhearted” and “He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” So he strongly desires to give you the strength you need to cope during this most difficult time. (Philippians 4:13)
