Myrtle was born January 13, 1947 in Yakima, Washington. She soon relocated to San Diego, California, where she was raised and would later meet the love of her life, James “Sonny” Baker. In 1972, Sonny and Myrtle moved their family to the Waco area, where she worked as a restaurant manager while raising her children.

Myrtle enjoyed gardening, and was a gifted painter. She loved making people laugh, and entertained everyone she encountered. Her greatest joy in life, however, was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an adoring “Nanny”.

She leaves behind a son, John Baker; two daughters, Mary Ryan and Judy Huffman; seven grandchildren, James Dunn, Brandon Dunn, Mark Dunn, Nicole Dunn, Dustin Huffman, Jesikah Huffman, and Andrea Baker; brother, Don Jones; sister, Ella Mae Roberts; as well as many great-grandchildren and other family members.

Pallbearers will be James Dunn, Dustin Huffman, Brandon Dunn, Mark Dunn, Dennis “Booger” Huffman, and Bubba Dunn.

Judy,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother. I know she has been struggling with failing health this past year. I know its been a difficult time. You have put so much effort into caring for her, especially since your Dads passing. Your strength and support is what has kept your Mom going for so long. Rest easy in knowing you did your very best to care for her as well as for your Dad. They were blessed with one of the most loving, carring and supportive daughters any parent could ever hope for. I know you made them proud. Your love and devotion to them never seise to amaze me. May God give you strength and comfort during this difficult time, and for many weeks to come. May you rest assured that your Mom is now together with your Dad rejoicing in heaven for ever more. I love you, and will be praying for you and your family! Im so sorry for your loss. Judy, thinking of you again and the loss of your mother. You did everything you could for her and took excellent care of her, having to deal with very difficult situations with doctors and other things. All mothers should be so lucky as to have such a loving, caring, responsible and devoted daughter such as yourself, taking everything on your shoulders as a matter of course, as you did. I’m so sorry for your loss of both your mom and dad. I’m so sorry for you having to go through all that.
