  12. Rest in Peace Mike.
Praying for you Alicia, my childhood friend,
and for your family. Many years have past and many miles. I always thought I’d bump into you sometime on an AA flight. I logged 1000s of miles, many flying westward, but chance meeting never happened.

When people mention a “sunny” person or describe a happy personality, Alicia, you have always been the instant picture my mind goes to. Bless you, I will be praying for your strength.

My prayers are with you at this difficult time.

  14. Deanna Grandstaff

    Dearest Alicia and Lexi,

I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around Mike’s passing. He was way too young to be taken from this earth. However, I take some comfort and hope you will too in the many wonderful and fun memories we all shared together. Mike always looked out for me, especially when I was living in Rockwall, and that meant a lot to me. He always worked hard making things perfect for guests when you had a get together and took a lot of pride in his work and home. Just last year for your pool party, he was working hard getting everything ready and although he was sick, he was still pushing forward. I really admired his determination to fight so hard and carry on as long as he possibly could. He may be gone physically but his spirit is very much alive in our memories.

“A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds.”

“Farewell our dear angel, fly slowly towards the angels and remember that we loved you and you will always be in our hearts. May you watch over us for eternity.”

    Love, Peace and Light,
    Your sister-friend,
    Deanna

  15. Lorynda and Brian Travis

Alicia, Alexa, Shawnna, Bailee, Uncle Morris, and Aunt DeDe,
We lost a very loving and caring person on July 28th. I know how hard it is to lose him and I pray for all to find comfort in the memories he has left us with. He fought to the very end and stayed positive; a true inspiration.
I hope you take some comfort in knowing he is in a better place with the Lord and he is not suffering anymore.
Praying for you and all who loved him to get through this sad time.

We will miss you immensely, Mike!

    Love,
    Lorynda and Brian

  17. A profound loss for us all! He was the real deal. His genuine, high integrity and loyalty will never be forgotten. A beloved presence in our lives! His Aunt Marcia.

  18. Beloved Mike: I wish you had been like an Eveready battery, that kept going and going and going! You are so beloved and dear to us all, and so deserving of these tributes.

  19. Although it has been a few years since I had talked to Mike, he left behind a legacy as a hardworking dad and husband. He was dedicated to his career , his family and his beloved Aggies. Living next door to the Lucas’ was such a blessing. They always were thoughtful and caring and a ton of fun. I am saddened by his loss.
