Melvin Ray Lee, 78, of Elm Mott, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, with his family by his side Saturday, April 17, 2021.

Service Information: Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Lake Shore Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 26, 2021 at Parkview Baptist Church with Dr. John W. Collier and Co-Pastor Joey Crenshaw officiating.

Melvin was born August 31, 1942 to Barney and Lois Lee. He attended LaVega High School and later served eight years in the Army National Guard Reserve.

Melvin married Ruth Cochran on June 24, 1961. They spent almost 60 years together. They had a very blessed life together.  They enjoyed bass fishing and deer hunting. Spending time with family was very important to him. Melvin was a Baylor sports fan and a season ticket holder for the girls basketball and softball.

He was preceded in death by son, David B. Lee in 1982; brother, Johnny E. Lee in 2018; parents Barney and Lois Lee; grandparents; nephew, Steven D. Lee in 1987; and two great-grandsons, Levi and Eli Robbins.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruth Lee; daughters, Tina Coats and husband, Hank, and Donna Collier and husband, R.W.; grandchildren, Megan O’Brien, Kaelyn Doyle and partner, Victor Tarros, Jadrian Coats and partner, Alberta Ramirez, Michael O’Brien and wife, Victoria, Candice Robbins and husband, Mark, Anthony Collier and wife, Meagan, and Courtney Frazier and husband, Bryce; 13 great-grandchildren; several sister-in-laws; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who he loved very much.

We want to thank the nurses that took care of Melvin. They loved him and took excellent care of him. He loved these nurses like they were his children! Thank you Tammy, Charlene and Chris.
