Maudie Louise Abernathy, age 91, of Clifton passed away July 31, 2021.
Memorial Graveside Service: Noon Thursday, August 26 at Oakwood Cemetery.
She was born in Turnersville, Texas, June 5, 1930 to Thomas and Annie (Shepard) Chaney.
Maudie was a waitress in Waco for many years. She loved plants and was a member of the Clifton Garden Club. Maudie enjoyed reading, gambling, and spoiling her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willis Clyde Abernathy.
Maudie is survived by her children, Alton Abernathy of Weatherford, Eddy Abernathy of Clifton and Joe Abernathy of Riesel, 11- grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

My sweet Aunt Maudie was the most amazing lady! She loved her family unconditionally! Aunt Maudie’s laugh would light up any room. Her HUGS were the best. She hugged you with all her might. You knew she loved you. She was a great example to all who knew her. Aunt Maudie was a GOOD, hard working lady. Eddy, Alton and Joe I am so sorry for your great loss, but please remember what a huge difference your mom made to so many.
