Mrs. Mattie Mae Curry Ross was born April 6, 1950, in Waco to Alva Ekizel and Jewell (Tillman) Curry Sr. She was the fourth of twelve children.

Mattie grew up in Waco and she attended J.H. Hines and graduated from Moore High School in 1968. After graduation, she married Edward Donald Anderson and to this union, they had two children Jennifer Anderson, and Eric Donald Anderson.

She married Harris Ross on March 21, 1992, until his death in 2015.

Rauls Sr. In her spiritual service, she served on the Usher Board, sung in the Choir, was a member of the Missionary Auxiliary, and the secretary for Sunday School. She served wherever she was needed. When Mattie married Harris Ross, she moved her membership to Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church where Harris was a tenured member and a Deacon. Mattie became a Deaconess and the church secretary. She faithfully attended Sunday school and was a member of the church’s choir. Mattie volunteered and served with the Union Baptist District Association, the Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas, and superintendent for Women’s Day.
