Mary was born November 2, 1936, in Gilmer, Texas. She graduated from Longview High School in Longview. She started in the Finance business and transitioned into the insurance industry. She worked for Gulf American Fire & Casualty Insurance Company and Palomar Insurance company, both in Montgomery, Alabama working in the claims department. After deploying with her husband around the world in the Air Force, she began a career in the Funeral Industry where she worked in Waco while living in Hewitt. They finally retired and moved back to her home in Longview, before settling in Whitney in her later years.
She loved cooking, working with flowers and plants, and watching football and baseball. Especially Auburn and the Texas Rangers. “Pudge” Rodriguez was her favorite player.

Mary was a beacon of love and strength for her family, always supporting them with unwavering encouragement and wisdom. Mary Ann will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered for her generosity, grace, and the unconditional love she so freely gave. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

I only met this lady one time, however if her daughter is anything like her, she was a great lady. May you rest well.
My Aunt Mary was so loved by her husband, my Uncle, Richard Sandberg, and all those that met her. My heartfelt condolences to the family, especially her daughter, Cindy, who remained by my Aunt and Uncle’s sides throughout their later years caring for them.
