Mary Katherine Pendergrass, 76, of Cedar Hill, formerly of China Spring, passed away peacefully Monday, December 19, 2022 after courageously battling ovarian cancer for more than two decades.

Funeral Service: 1PM Thursday, December 22 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel in Waco.
Cremation will follow at Lake Shore Crematory.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mary was born August 25, 1946 in Kansas City, MO to Jesse J. Sharon and Eleanor R. (Clutter) Kirk. She married Jerry A. Pendergrass on November 27, 1963 in Merriam, KS. They moved to Texas in 1980 finally settling the family in China Spring in 1983. She worked in retail, but her most memorable job was working alongside her husband for 16 years at A.B.Dick Company. They moved to Cedar Hill in 1991.

Mary and Jerry were inseparable. She dedicated 56 years of marriage to the love of her life, Jerry; always focusing their priorities and the raising of their three children. Their dedication and love for one another and family serves as a great example for those who knew them well. Mary’s favorite pastime was crocheting and sharing those creations with her family. Most recently, she was passionate about genealogy and the family’s lineage.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jerry Pendergrass; and dachshunds, Buster, Babe, Bear, and Woody.

Survivors include three children, Sheri Lefkoski and husband Joe, Carri Shehorn and husband Brent, and Terry Pendergrass and wife Tiffany; four granddaughters, Kathy (Damon), Melissa, Taylor (Sergey), and Madison; and step grandson, Christopher; great grandsons, Killian, Klayton, and Korben, and great granddaughter, Lily; sister, Teresa Queen-Smith; brother-in-law, Terry Pendergrass; and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as her parrot Cody, and dachshund Shorty.
