Mary Elizabeth Meredith, 64 of Waco went to meet the lord March 11, 2022. Mary was born on August 17, 1957, in Kingsville, Texas to Joyce Adrian and Paul Hughes. Mary had two sisters whom she loved dearly and had a special place in her heart for, Diane Rushing and Nel Elgin. Mary had three other sisters, Bonnie, Mary Ivory, and Linda Diane.

Mary gave birth to her first daughter Sunshine Rose Hughes on August 15, 1978. Mary joined in marriage to Michael Joseph Meredith on January 2, 1981, Mary and Mike had two children together. Their daughter Journey Christine Meredith was born November 11, 1981, and later a son, Brian James Meredith was born December 19, 1989. Mary was blessed with nine grandchildren whom she was very proud of. Grandsons, Dominique Bishop, Jayden Bishop, and Nicholas Gavin. Granddaughters, Harleigh Gavin, Lydia Gavin, Juliana Vigil, Brook Colston, Athena Meredith, and Calliope Meredith.

Mary was blessed with a beautiful imagination. She expressed herself in her exceptional drawing abilities. Mary was well known for her outstanding artwork and creativity. When people speak of Mary the most used description would be “Sweet” Mary was wholesome sweet, kind, caring, and genuine. Her favorite past time was bragging on Journey and Brian. She was a very loyal mother who thrived to show her children she was proud of them in every situation, and it was very important to her that her family knew that she loved them, and she accomplished that. She also loved watching UFC and Marvel movies and spent lots of time listening to all her favorite music and of course endless drawing.

Mary is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Michael Joseph Meredith who passed in 2012 after a courageous battle with Cancer at the age of 52. Mary and Michael were lifelong friends and Mary expressed many times that Michael was the only man she ever loved. Journey and Brian find peace in knowing that their parents are now both healed and in the hands of God, together in Heaven. Also preceded in death is Mary’s mother Joyce Adrian.

Mary was a bright light in the world and brought joy to those around her, she was faced with many physical and mental challenges within her life, but Mary remained strong and positive no matter what challenges she faced. She taught her children and those around her what strength and survival looked like and was admired by those who came into her life.  Mary will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Thank you to the care staff who came into our mother’s life in a positive way. Thank you to everyone who spent time with her, invested in her, and took the time to get to know her. Thank you to all the care staff who treated our mother with dignity and respect.

John 16:22 New International Version 22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
