Marshall Todd Hobbs

Hobbs(2)

Marshall Todd Hobbs, 27, of Waco, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025.

Funeral Service: 10AM Monday, February 10, 2025 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.

Marshall was born on April 22, 1997, in El Paso, Texas, to Gary and Martha (Polasek) Hobbs. He was baptized in the Catholic faith as a second-grader and was confirmed as a freshman in high school. Raised in Kentucky, he graduated from Scott County High School in 2015. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Texas to begin his life journey and to be near his brother.

Marshall enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 25, 2016, and was stationed at Fort Hood. During his service, he met Kassidy May, who “just happened to be a great catch and a great cook,” exactly what Marshall was looking for at the time. The couple married on April 29, 2019, in Killeen.

A talented marksman, Marshall was a decorated veteran and a member of the Third Cavalry Regiment. He was honorably discharged from Fort Hood on January 29, 2021. Shortly thereafter, Marshall and Kassidy moved to Waco, where he joined the Waco Police Department. He also pursued higher education and was set to graduate  in December 2025.

Marshall had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed water activities, fishing (not catching), boating, hunting, working out, auto mechanics, and carpentry in his well-equipped workshop that many envied. He also cherished his dogs.

Marshall was a complex, introspective man—a wonderful friend who was dependable and possessed an amazing dry sense of humor. He was passionate about everything he pursued, always confident in his decisions. He was an outstanding law enforcement officer and an amazing person, who will be missed by many in numerous ways.

Marshall was preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanley Hobbs, and Carol and Edward Polasek.

He is survived by his wife of five years, Kassidy Hobbs; parents, Gary and Martha Hobbs; brother, Tanner Hobbs and wife Maddie; niece, Elkin; grandmother, Betty June Hobbs; and numerous other relatives.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Waco Police Department family, especially Marshall’s squad, District 1, 3B, for their care and support during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to American Valor Foundation.

  6. Marshall, words cannot express my love for you. I have such wonderful memories of the time you and Tanner spent with me and Papa in Ash Flat. You both were the APPLE of Papa’s eye. You and Papa hold a spot for me. Love you more than words can say.

  7. I love you. I miss you.

  8. I remember us playing Medal of Honor on the games growing up and little would we know we would both end up serving. You were a great influence and an even better person. Some live to know if they made a difference in this world but a military man does not. He knows and carries the sacrifice of many on his shoulders knowing he made the world a better place. May God welcome his soldiers home with open arms. Miss you buddy and god bless.

  9. +JMJ+ So sorry for your loss! Keeping the soul of Marshall+ and all family members in our prayers.
