Lowrey Ben “L.B.” Moore, 94, of Waco, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco.

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Burial: Waco Memorial Park

L.B. was born July 24, 1923 in Coryell County to John Travis Moore and Nancy Jane Carter Moore. He attended schools in the Gatesville area. He met the love of his life, Willie, at the age of 18. Willie was only 14, so they waited until she turned 18 so that she could “legally” marry him. L.B. and Willie moved to Waco in the late 40’s and lived in the same house since.

L.B. was a loving husband and father. He loved playing his harmonica, fishing and was famous for his precision with his slingshot.  He was a hard working truck driver for 44 years.

He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church in Lorena.

L.B. was preceded in death by his loving wife, Willie Dean Moore.

He is survived by three children, Linda Johnson and husband, Howard of Eddy, Ronda Good and husband, Billy of Bruceville and Sandy Moore of Waco; many grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a special niece, Dorothy Gibson; his sister-in-law, Margie Marie Williams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Providence Hospice Place for their compassion and care of our sweet Daddy.
