Louise Kunkel, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10am Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Lake Shore Funeral Home with Rev. Joevaster Witcher officiating.
Louise was born June 11, 1933 in Amityville, New York to John and Ethel Louise (Vanriper) Bruzzo. In addition to living in New York, she lived in Miami, Florida; Odessa, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; Austin, Texas and finally settled in Waco, Texas in 2012. During much of her adult life she worked as a grocery store cashier.
Growing up in an Italian home, Louise became an amazing cook which included such family favorites as lasagna, chicken cacciatore, meat balls and banana pudding. She loved sharing her culinary skills and her unconditional love with her family and friends. In her spare time, Louise enjoyed working crossword puzzles and crocheting.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel Bruzzo; husband, Anton Kunkel; brother, Joey Bruzzo and granddaughter, Allison Kunkel. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Dodi Blocker and husband Glenn of Waco, Texas; son, Ron Kunkel and wife Nina of Florence, Arizona; grandchildren, Emily and Nathan Kunkel, Marcus Blocker and Nesta Jenkins; great granddaughter, Bronwyn Piper and a host of extended family and friends.
