Louis Rangel

RANGEL

Louis Rangel, loving servant of Jehovah, entered his final sleep here on earth on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, awaiting his calling to Paradise in the Kingdom of Jehovah God.

Memorial Service: 10:00 am, Saturday, September 26, at Lake Shore Funeral Home. Bobby Johnson will officiate.

Louis was born on April 23, 1936, in Navarro County, Texas, where he also attended school. He passionately spread the word of Jehovah’s paradise in meetings, door to door, in nursing homes, and lastly from his own final resting place, lying down when he could no longer walk. His enthusiasm for teaching was matched by his work ethic, as he dedicated his working years delivering concrete, then driving a truck and painting heavy equipment for Davis Truck and Equipment until he retired.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents Joe Rangel and Josephine (Carrizales) Rangel; brothers, Martin Rangel and Tony Joe Rangel; sisters, Mary Ordonez and Pilar Castillo; and his infant son, Jimmy Rangel.

Louis is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Juanita (Bueno) Rangel, who he met and shared his childhood. He also leaves behind his sons, Johnny Rangel, and wife, Janet, Joe Rangel, and wife, Debbie, both of Waco; daughters, Silvia Phillips, and husband, Ron, of Deputy, Indiana, Delores Fairley, Linda R. Trevino, and husband, Joel, Diane Castello, and husband, Kenneth, Anna Marie Elkins, and husband, David, and Patricia Rangel, all of Waco, TX; a brother, Manuel Rangel, and wife Virginia of Blue Mound; sisters, Christine Garza, and husband, Andy, of Waco, Janie Vasquez of Belton, May Padilla and Ramona Rangel of Waco, and Petra Olvera of Fort Worth; 25 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Condolence Messages

  1. Louis, I don’t know what will fill the void that is now present in our lives. I have never known another man who lived so true to his faith, yet respected others, for you knew it is no one’s place here on earth to judge another.
I’ll miss our long discussions on the front porch in the mornings, your infectious personality that always seems to lift spirits at the right moment, and your sense of humor that always seemed to bring smiles.
You were in my life only a short twenty-seven years, however through every one of them, I grew to know you, respect you, emulate you, to love you, and most difficult, help to take care of you. You blessed so many of our lives with your children, who became wives, mothers, husbands, and fathers, many of them, purveyors of lessons learned from you and Juanita through your scriptures and teachings.
As you sleep, our lives will go on with so many wonderful memories of you, and although there will be sorrow, I am so excited to know in my heart that you, such a faithful servant, will awaken in Jehovah’s paradise.

I love you and miss you; sleep well my dear father-in-law, until it is time to climb that mountain.

    David Elkins

  2. I am sad I was unable to see grandpa Louis on his last, day but I know he is happy now and that we will see him again soon. Having so many people that love him, he must’ve been a great man for a long time, making so many friends along the way. Love and miss you all ready grandpa.

  3. We love all of you and you are in our prayers in this hour of grief…
Sylvia, I know it’s hard, but your dad is now resting beside my dad, safe in Jehovah’s memory.. awaiting the resurrection… we will see them both again real soon… love you all very much…

  4. To Silvia and her family I’d like to say how sorry for your loss and the pain you are going through. Hopefully it will not be of a long duration until that Paradise comes. Until then we pray that everyone can endure . It’s a nice memory when your dad came and gave us such a stirring and heartfelt talk. Be assured of Jehovah’s love .

  5. My heart aches knowing that you are gone. I wish I could have been with you in your last moments, but I am so glad I was able to sit with you and see that smile one last time before you left us. You never failed to make me smile and there are so many memories that I have from growing up in yours and grandmas house that I will cherish forever. You were such a great man, always wanting the best for every single person you met, creating lasting friendships and spreading your faith. You were so inspiring and you and your message will continue to live on through every single life that you touched. I love you and miss you so much, grandpa.

  6. BRYAN & LORENE NORRIS

Dear Family & Friends. Precious Wife, Beautiful Children, Lovely Grandchildren & Good Friends…. particularly Ron & Sylvia, Andrew & Ashley, Justin & Sabrina, and JR & Amy Phillips. First we are so sorry for the loss of your father, your grandfather, your friend, and our friend. IT was such a joy to meet Him & Your Mum when they came to visit us & our congragation. When he gave the public discourse you could see, you could hear and you could feel the Love He had for Jehovah and for the truth. Mostly though, when you spoke with him personally, His Love, you could feel all around like a beautiful smelling aroma that filled the air. I only met him just the once, but I can imagine how it must have been to know him all life long. Guess what!!! That’s exactly what awaits us in our future! Meeting Him Again! As his soul rests in the peaceful sleep of death, ( the pause) may we continue moving forward in the Love & Worship of OUR God Jehovah until that happy happy day of the resurrection & Life in Jehovah’s Beautiful Paradise Earth & we see our Dear Friend Louis Rangel again. We love you each more than words can say ♡♡♡ Our Warm Christian Love & condolences being sent down your way. Bryan & Lorene Norris

  12. John and Onny Hlavac

What a beautiful video. We are so sorry for your loss. May the love and support you experience today from friends and family be a great comfort to you. You are in our thoughts and prayers. With you in longing for that day when our “sleeping” loved ones will hear Jesus’ sweet voice calling for them to wake up. “He will call” and your husband/dad /grandpa/brother will answer! Then this horrible sadness will be replaced with a joy we have yet to know. What an amazing hope our loving God, Jehovah, has given us.
    Love you,
John , Onny , Ian and Joe.

  13. The DVD was such a loving tribute to Brother Rangel and his enthusiasm for Jehovah’s service. We will miss him and his happy face until we see him again.

  14. Patricia Rangel
