Louis Otto Wentrcek, 75, of Georgetown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 30, 2016, after a hard fought battle with Diabetes and Kidney Disease. Through it all he always gave God the glory for the miracles that he had in his life.

Memorial Service celebrating Louis’ Life and his Faith: Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 2:00PM at Christ Lutheran Church, 510 Luther Drive in Georgetown.

Louis will be placed in the Memorial Prayer Garden at Christ Lutheran.

Louis was born in Taylor, TX on September 23, 1941 to Louis R. Wentrcek and Frieda Reichenbach Wentrcek. He grew up in Friendship, Granger and Taylor with his two younger brothers Carl Edward and Johnny Emil.

Louis met his wife Joan Dee in Taylor. They were married in a ceremony performed by Louis’ cousin Reverend Joseph Barton at the Brethren Church of Taylor on October 27, 1962. To their joy, two years later, they would welcome their son Louis R. “Ricky” Wentrcek on October 29, 1964.

Louis worked as a salesman for Superior Dairies in Taylor. While working for Superior Dairies he earned many awards to include top salesman on more than one occasion. In 1969 Louis and Joan moved their family to Georgetown, TX where he went to work for Mrs. Baird’s Bakery. Three years after their move to Georgetown, they would complete their family with the birth of their daughter Kimberly Ann Wentrcek on September 26, 1972. Louis would spend the next 27 years with Mrs. Baird’s before retiring on May 17, 1996.

Louis had a heart to serve others through his volunteer work. He was a member of the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department from 1970-1975, he was an active member of the Georgetown Optimist Club and a charter member of the Georgetown Jaycees. He was also active in church where he volunteered as a Sunday School teacher, Youth Leader and was a member of several church committees. In addition, he also volunteered as a greeter, usher, Welcome Center Representative and money counter.

Until his health made things he enjoyed too difficult he loved to go camping, fishing and deer hunting with his family. He then became an avid gardener; working in his yard was one of his biggest joys. He also enjoyed playing dominoes with friends, watching University of Texas football and listening to his Czech music. Louis was always proud of his heritage. More than anything, his biggest love was his grandchildren. His granddaughters were his pride and joy. Whether it was playing games or watching movies, his girls were his whole world. He loved being a Grandpa most of all.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Johnny.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan Wentrcek; son, Ricky Wentrcek and wife Babbette of Florence; daughter, Kim Wentrcek Thompson and husband Woody of Georgetown; his three granddaughters, Brittany Michelle and Taylor Jeannette of Florence, and Sarah Otillie of Georgetown; his brother, Carl Wentrcek and wife Judy of Corpus Christi and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in his name to Christ Lutheran Church of Georgetown or the American Diabetes Association.

Joan, Kim, Ricky and family, what blessed memories Chet and I have of Louis, and you all, watching our kids grow, and fellowshipping together in the Love of GOD and HIS GRACE displayed in our lives. Those were precious times. Louis is absent from us now, but is present with the LORD, and we will see him again. Pain free and dancing with JESUS!
