Linda L. Shands, 60, died April 9th, 2022 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas after her battle with pancreatic cancer. Her funeral service and internment will be held on her birthday, Monday, May 2nd, 2022 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas, Texas 75211.
Ms. Shands was born on May 2nd, 1961 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, daughter of Eva and Darrell Law. Linda proudly served 4 years of military service in the USAF, and was a member of the Honor Guard. She married Michael Shands and they had one child, Heather Marie Shands before divorcing years later. They remained close friends until Linda’s untimely passing.
Ms. Shands worked for many non-profit organizations, shining light on the compassionate and caring heart she had. Linda moved to Temple, Texas in 2011 and worked at the VA Hospital in Temple until her passing.
She is survived by her only child, Heather Marie Shands of Dallas, son in law, Eddie Ford and 2 grandchildren, Kylie Ford and John Ford Jr., her sister Iona Rutherford and 2 brothers, Mark Parks and Tom Parks.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and her brother Louis Law.
