This gentleman taught me driver’s ed 41 years ago and I still remember him fondly. He was so very funny. I still remember “You can drive with your toes, when you are out of my class, but while here, it’s 10 and 2”. My prayers and thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. God Bless.

Sincerely,

Debbie Oplie Bigham

Coach Broadus was a great coach, he coached me in junior and high school track. Coach Broadus inspired us to perform to the best of our ability. He cared deeply about the athletes he coached and was a mentor, counsellor as well as a coach. Please accept my deepest condolences for your family’s loss.

Condolence from Dana St. John on June 28th, 2017 2:19 pm

I’m so sorry for your loss. I will keep the family in my prayers. Coach Broadus taught my driver’s ed class about 40 years ago. He was so funny and very patient! I still think of him sometimes when I’m driving down the road. It took a while to sink into my head that I had to put the brake on long before I got to the stop sign and he would slam on his brake just give me this look and say “When were you going to stop?!?!”. He was just great with us.

Sincerely,
Dana St. John

My condolences and prayers are extended to the family. Mr. Broadus was a great coach and teacher at our beloved G. W. Carver High. He will always be remembered as “one of the favorites” by many of his students. As we became adults, he always remembered his Carver students and had words of wisdom. May he now rest in peace. We will miss you!

I too remember him teaching drivers education. He was very patient, supportive and kind. He was definitely made kids feel good about themselves in those crazy high school years. He is one teacher I have thought fondly about over the years

On behalf of the 1973 Senior Class of Waco High School, we offer our sincere condolences to our classmate, Marcia Broadus Jackson. Mr. Broadus attended our last class reunion as Marcia’s date. It was such a cavalier act on his part. Marcia, we stand with you during the transition. We love you!
