
Lenice Greathouse Jr., 46,of Waco, was called home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Hillcrest, Waco, Texas.
Memorial Service: 2pm March 15, 2025 at Lake Shore Funeral Home with Reception following service.
Lenice Greathouse Jr. was born on August 16, 1978, in Waco, Texas to Lenice Sr. and Mary Greathouse. Lenice was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, beginning his faith journey at an early age at Wilhite AME Church. He also attended Temple of Christ Church and later became a Deacon at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Lenice also found a spiritual home at Fearless Life Church. His unwavering faith was the foundation of his life. A proud 1996 graduate of Waco High School, Lenice went on to receive an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts Meat Processing from Texas State Technical College in 1997. He utilized his skills as a butcher, working for several companies, including Winn Dixie, Fiesta Mart, The Meat House, and as a Market Manager for H.E.B. in Woodway, Texas, before being medically retired. Lenice had a passion for the outdoors, often enjoying the sunshine and taking peaceful drives through the country. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, but above all, Lenice loved praising Jesus and helping others. Lenice was united in marriage to LaKenya Ervin on July 8, 2000, in Waco, Texas. Together, they were blessed with their beloved son, Caleb, on August 23, 2002.
Lenice is survived by his loving wife, LaKenya, her mother, Bobbie Ervin; son Caleb; granddaughter, Zariyah and her mother, Faith, and his beloved fur babies Abby, Lola, and Bo. Lenice’s memory will also be cherished by his father Lenice Greathouse Sr., his mother Mary, his brother Craig (Brandy), and his favorite nieces Monica, Chloe, Brianna, and Butterfly. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, and many friends.
Lenice’s legacy of love, faith, and service to others will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved partner. You complemented each other like no other couple I know. You both had gone through so many trials and test over the years, but the Lord saw you both through. May your precious memories that you have bring you comfort as you continue walk with the Lord. I want you to know that if you ever need to talk I am here for you my dear cousin.
