Kenneth George, Sr., 83, of Waco, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, Aug. 13, at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Bob Harr officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 12, from 6 to 8 PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Kenneth proudly served his country with the US Navy, the Army National Guard and also was a former policeman. He was a master electrician by trade. He was very involved in community service, having been a member of the Lions Club, Post Commander of VFW Post #2412, as well as volunteering with other civic organizations.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Cody Hammonds; and two brothers, James George, Jr. and Richard George.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; son, Kenneth R. George, Jr. and wife, Vickie; daughters, Sharon Wilson and husband, Jackie, Vicki Renfro and husband, Raymond, Lynn Huggins and Patricia Cegielski; sister, Louise Shiflet and husband, Buster; grandchildren, Kandi, Kyle, Tony, Scott, Denice, Les, Robert, A.J., Amy, Kristina, Christopher and Steven; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

The family would like to offer special thanks to the Texas Home Health Hospice.

  1. I was sorry to hear of Kenneth’s passing. We worked together many years, but had lost contact following his retirement. I’ll always remember him as a dedicated and effective member of our group. I offer my condolences and prayers to his family and those that mourn his passing.

  4. I’ve known Kenneth for many years. He was very good friends with my husband Bill Potts. We camped and traveled a lot with him and Carol. He will be missed.
