Kenneth

Kenneth Shaw, 70, of Crawford, passed away surrounded by those who loved him on June 1, 2016.

Memorial Service: 4 PM Saturday, June 11th at Bible Way Church located at 2800 Gurley Ave. in Waco, with Pastor David Arnett officiating.

Reception following service: Family and friends will visit and share stories.

Flowers delivery: from noon to 4 PM on Friday, June 10th to the church.

Kenneth was the third born of seven children to Lois Edward and Ruby Pearl (Smith) Shaw on May 31, 1946. He married Darlene Rechenthin on June 18, 1966 and they had four children together and the journey of life began. The majority of their married life was lived in the community of Crawford where Kenneth was employed by Lhoist North America for 30 plus years. Kenneth was a prankster and story teller. If you knew him then you know what a character he was. He spent a lot of time at the local Fina where he ate hamburgers, drank coffee, visited with friends and lost a fortune in scratch offs. As a young boy, he learned all about coon hunting while spending many hours in the woods with his dad and brothers. He was a trader at heart and if he beat you out on some deal, please accept our apology now. He would not agree to heart surgery until he was able to attend the State Hunt. He wanted to enjoy visiting with all of his friends. Many hours were spent playing a game of “42” dominoes. He was serious about it, he wanted to win. If he pranked you with “Dave’s Insanity Sauce” you probably can still “feel the burn”. We have heard many stories from those that described him as giving and generous. He was our husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Kenneth you will always hold a place in our hearts and will always be the center of the stories we tell about that CRAZY MAN from Crawford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret Shaw; son in law, Roy Durrence; great grandson, Jett Millsaps; and in-laws, Ernst and Luetta Rechenthin, and brothers in law, Alton Rechenthin, Ernst Rechenthin and sister in law, Edna Gamel.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Shaw; children, Terry Langley and husband Jason, Katherine Durrence; Daniel Shaw and wife Ronda; Mandy Shaw and Ruth Ann Casey; grandchildren, Kara Newell, Jordan and Jessica Millsaps, Randall and Kelsey Outlaw, Krista Millsaps, Bailey Snow, Becca Casey, Derrick Shaw, Emily Langley, Shana Green, Matthew Scofield, Savannah Casey, Rachael Shaw, and Sam Langley; great grandchildren, DaShiya Charity, Draven Fuqua and Jace Beggs; brothers and sisters, Max Shaw and wife Linda, Oneitta Fortenberry and husband Charlie, Billy Jack Shaw and wife Debbie, Reba Arnett and husband David and Becky Shaw; sisters in law, Mary Kay Maddox and husband Jerry, Cynthia Moore; brother in law, Bruce Rechenthin; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Uncle Kenneth was one of the those uncles you could always count on to make you laugh. As far back as I can remember I’ve enjoyed listening to his stories. He even made himself laugh! That’s talent! I’m going to miss him more than he’d ever know. Thanks for being such a special part of my life.
