Kay was born on August 2, 1953 in Gatesville, Texas. She was the daughter of Bobbie Joe (Smith) Pruitt and Raymond Lehrmann. She attended McGregor public schools and studied accounting at MCC. Kay married the love of her life Steve Wade on January 30, 1982 in Waco.

Together she and Steve have built and operated their auto repair shop, Loop 340 Garage for over thirty years.  Kay’s greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother.  She raised two sons, Ronnie & Michael, and considers them her greatest accomplishment.  On multiple occasions she opened her home to misfits needing the love and refuge that was so easily found in her giving heart.  She was a great friend to many and never shy to help in any way she could.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; son, Ronnie Wiethorn & wife, Kristi of Waco; son, Michael Wiethorn & wife, Penny of Crawford; mother, Bobbie of Waco; mother-in-law, Virgie Armstrong of Waco; grandchildren, Jackson, Connor, Mackensie, Marissa, Allie, Emily, & Jay; sister, Neta Wiethorn & husband Curtis of Valley Mills; sisters-in-law Paula Wade and Rachel Wade, both of Waco; and Fran Lehrmann of Grand Prairie; brother-in-law Scott Bard of Michigan; extended family, and many friends. Kay was dearly loved by many.
