Katherine (Susie) Louise Pursley, 84, was born January 11, 1938 to W.H. Jackson and Hattie Mae Payne in Waco, TX.

Visitation: 3 – 7PM Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Service: 10AM Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at Rosemound Cemetery.

She received her education from LaVega ISD and attended 4C Business College. She attended Concord Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Waco.

June of 1959, Susie was united in marriage to Mr. Bobby Joe Pursley. To this union two children were born, Kimberly and Susan. Susie worked as a bookkeeper at J.S. Barnett until they closed their doors and went on to be a caregiver to several people over the years. Susie had a great love for her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and canning. She had a passion for watching sporting events and playing dominoes and cards. Susie never met a stranger and would always put the need of others before her own.

She is preceded in death by her parents, W.H. and Hattie Mae Jackson, the love of her life, Bobby Joe Pursley and siblings; Helen Jackson, Cecil Cooper, Buddy Joe Jackson, and Donald Ray Jackson.

Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Bond and husband, Keith, of Waco, TX, Susan Bly and husband, Chris of Midlothian, TX; six grandchildren, Brad Bond and wife, Sharlet, Cory Massey, Colton Massey and wife, Tiffany, Casey Baessler and husband, Cody, Caleb Bly and Jadon Bly; eight great grandchildren and several extended family members.

Susie cared for both my parents before they went to Heaven. She was faithful, kind, compassionate and so hard-working. She amazed me! I will forever be grateful to her, May God bless those of you who loved her most. You are in my prayers.
