June Rueter passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022.

Funeral Service: 2PM Friday, July 8, 2022 at First Baptist Church of China Spring. Burial to follow at China Spring Cemetery

June was born at home June 21, 1932 in Falls County, TX; the 7th of 8 living children of Freddie and Deoma Ward. Her early years were spent playing with her sister and brother and extended family who lived nearby, and waiting for word from older siblings who were serving during World War II. She graduated from Marlin High School at age 16 and, after some traveling, attended University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, and proudly graduated from Baylor University with a degree in accounting.

Wayne and June married in Waco in 1962 at the home of the friends who introduced them. They first lived in Waco where Leigh Anne was born, then moved to China Spring in 1974, where Wayne built their adobe home almost entirely from his cabinet shop. One of her favorite jobs was serving as secretary for the Waco Foundation because she was able to sort thru artifacts at the historical Cooper House.

June loved genealogy research, her church, China Spring sports, visiting with friends and family, collecting silver plate and a good day antiquing with Wayne.
