June W. Rose Ivie, 91, passed from this life into eternity with her Lord and Savior Thursday, June 7, 2012. A celebration of her life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at Highland Baptist Chapel (Old Sanctuary) with the Rev. Barry Camp officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 11, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, Waco.
June was born Feb. 20, 1921, to Ruth Osborne Rose and Lewis Rose in Denver, Mo. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and a dear friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Burl Ivie; and a brother, Bill Rose.
She is survived by a son, Brad Ivie of Austin; daughter, Janie Davis of Waco; grandchildren, Ronda Ivie, Jason Ivie, and Christopher Ivie of Austin, Clay Foster of California, and Troy Foster of Johnson City; three great-grandchildren of Johnson City; brother, Paul Rose of Denver, Mo.; several nieces and a nephew, along with many friends who loved her and will surely miss her.
A special thank you to caregivers, Arlene Loredo, Dorinia Archieago, Eve Cruz, and Rachel Rodriquez, and to Texas Home Health and Hospice Services.
Pallbearers will be Clay Foster, Troy Foster, Christopher Ivie, James Odom, Stephen Foster, and Terry Downes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ken Bolen and Randy Bolen.
Memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church.

Condolences for the family of “June W. Ivie”
To Mrs. Ivie’s family:
Mrs. Ivie sat near us at Highland for several years. Probably since 2005-6 or so. When our son was in the Marines and overseas, she made a point of praying for him all the time. She would ask of him regularly. I would share updates with her about his journey through life. Caleb made sure to visit with her when he was home. He knew of her constant prayer support while he was in harms way.
She encouraged us, and comforted us, and we hope that we did her as well. What an example of Christian love and compassion. A Walking Testimony she was. You are blessed to call her Mother and friend.
