Johnny Lee Miller of Waco Texas filed his final flight plan to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ April 12, 2023.

Johnny was born in Waco, Texas December 20, 1948, and graduated from Waco High School in 1967.

Some people never see their dreams realized, but Johnny lived his dream as a career pilot. Flying was his passion, and he led a life well lived. He began his flight journey at only 16 years old working for his father at Miller Aircraft at Waco Regional Airport. He flew commercial charters for over 55 years. Among the many clients he served were governors, senators, athletes and movie stars! Before turning in his wings in 2021, Johnny flew as a contract pilot for Texas Aero.

Johnny’s second love was fishing. Before his death, he lived on lake Whitney off and on for 45 years with his wife Barbara. He loved taking his boat out on the lake and talking all about “the one that got away.”

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Willie Mae Miller, and brother, Marion.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Johnny “J” Miller Jr and wife Dawn and their children from Waco; son, Paul F Miller from Waco; stepson, Lynn Walker and wife Cassie and their children from Dallas; brothers, Tommy and Larry Miller also from Waco.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
