Johnny Garcia, Sr., 77, of Waco, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 at his residence.

Rosary and Visitation: 6 pm Thursday, March 20, Rosary recited with Visitation to follow until 8PM at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10AM Friday, March 21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Johnny Garcia Sr., born December 13, 1947. Born and raised in Waco, Johnny was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend who dedicated his life to his family, his passions, and the community he cherished.

Johnny enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, football, and boxing. His dedication to boxing extended beyond being a fan—he was actively involved in coaching at the Waco Boxing Club, where he mentored young athletes and instilled discipline, resilience, and hard work in all those he trained.

Above all, Johnny was passionate about family. He lived by and passed down values that will endure through generations: work ethic, building strong relationships, and always acting with integrity and devotion to family and friends. He led by example, ensuring that those around him knew the importance of respect, perseverance, and taking care of one another.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Consuelo Garcia; sisters, Lucy Hernandez, Janie Susita, and Lanor Vasquez; and brothers, Simeon Garcia, Frank Garcia, Jesse Garcia, and Robert Garcia.

Survivors include his children, Johnny Garcia, Jr., Michael Garcia, Christopher Castro, Richard Garcia, and Vanessa Marquez; seven grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
