John Wadsworth Brake, loving father, grandfather, and brother, was called home to the Lord on December 17, 2019.

Memorial Service: A celebration of John’s life will be held at Bruceville Community Church on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 12:00 noon.

John was born on January 8, 1945 in Waco, TX.  He grew up in the Abilene area, and returned to central Texas as a young man, where he married, and learned the carpentry trade. John worked as a carpenter for the next 40 plus years in Texas and Oklahoma, and honed his skills to the master craftsman level.  If it was made of wood, he could build it. After he retired, he crafted everything from toys to birdhouses.  His rocking horses were a big hit with family and friends alike.

John was also an accomplished cook, one of his specialties being cinnamon rolls. John never met a stranger, and he would give you the shirt off his back if needed. He was a great story teller, and he loved western movies.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lois Virginia Foller Beaumont, and step-father Ernest Foller.

John is survived by two children: daughter, Christi Lea Brake of Eddy, TX, and son, John W. Brake Jr. of  TX.; 3 siblings: brother, Virgle Foller of Conroe Texas, sister, Virginia Foller Conklin of Abilene Texas, and adopted brother, Matthew Beaumont of Moody, TX; grandsons, Joseph Brake Sr. and wife, Shirley of Eddy, TX; Jeffrey Ashley of Hewitt, TX; Isaiah Brake of Eddy, TX, and Harrison Gilchrest of Troy, TX; great-grandkids, Joseph Brake Jr, Gage Brake, and Eiden Brake.
