John Derek Castillo went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 14th, 2009. Memorial services will be 10AM Saturday, February 21st at Family Worship Center in Waco with pastors Darrell Price and Marselo Lozano officiating.

John was born on December 19, 1983 in Waco. He attended Waco schools until he relocated to Brownsville in 2001. By the end of 2003 he was a Private First Class in ROTC at Pace High School. He returned to Waco to graduate from Waco High in 2004. He achieved a Culinary Arts Certificate from Gary Job Corps in 2005. He was a member of Family Worship Center of Waco. John was a loving son, brother, father, uncle and friend. He was the essence of humility.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Hamby of Waco, A great- uncle, Frank Hamby and great-aunt, Beatriz Garcia, both of Brownsville.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Evelinda Morales of Waco and Antonio Morales of Mexico; sisters, Kristy Puerta and husband, Juan of Waco, and Beatrice Castillo and Pablo Rodriguez of Ft. Worth; little brothers J. Angel and Antonio I. Morales of Waco; a son, Markes Eric Castillo and fianc

  8. Hey, I remember the times you and your sisters would come down and see us yo!! I remember going to the little park over by our house and just swinging and playing like the little kids that we were at the time. I was thinking about going over and seeing you guys about two weeks ago but things happen and in the end I couldnt go. Comes to show you that you cant take time for granted. I should have gone it didnt matter what time it was. But, who is to say whats going to happen. We never forgot about you just didnt know how to get in contact with ya. Your padrinos here man are shocked to hear what happened. I know that you are in a better place but like your sisters say keep a place up there for us. We will miss ya!!!
