 Joe Louis Luna, age 63, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021.
Memorial Service: 2 pm Thursday, December 30 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend.
Visitation: 6-8 pm Wednesday, December 29 at the funeral home.
Joe was born June 15, 1958 in Calvert, Texas to his parents Ejinio G. Luna and Felesita Romo Luna. He was one of 13 children.   Joe played football for the Calvert Trojans, and graduated in 1977 from Calvert High School. Joe’s hobbies were collecting coins, football jerseys, baseball, and football cards. His all time favorite was looking for garage sales, playing his music, and watching wrestling with our baby girl Cali sitting next to him.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, and 1 sister.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Mary Katherine (Kathy) Luna; daughters,  Mrs. Valerie Shields and husband Andrew, and Ca’liyah (Cali Rae) Luna; his only granddaughter, Aiyana (Yaya) Gillespie; and son Brandon J. Luna; sisters, Margie Reyes and husband Johnnie of Amarillo, Martha Varela and husband Bobby of Canyon, and Anita Guitron and husband Carlos of College Station; brothers, Felix Luna and wife Janie of Caldwell, and Ricky Luna of Bryan; best friend, Ron Mitchell; sister in law, Cynthia Davis and husband Henry of Waco, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many friends who will miss him very much!!

  6. Im so sorry for your loss. It is hard to believe because Joe was always right there with his family. He was a kind and loving man. No one came before kathy , he kids and his yaya.
