Joe Montgomery Sr, who was the World’s Greatest dad took his final breath surrounded by his children on September 5, 2022, at 9:50 a.m.

Joe Montgomery Sr was born in Bosqueville, Texas on July 20,1937 to the parentage of H.L and Josephine Montgomery who preceded him in death. Joe married the love of his life, Nolan Marie Montgomery whom unto this union six children were born of which his wife (Nolan Marie) and 2 children (Elvis Sr. and Joe Jr.) joined him on the heavenly Gospel Train.

Joe loved the construction business where he worked with Downing Brothers and then Young Brothers Construction until he retired at the age of 66.

Joe loved spending his Sunday’s broadcasting on the radio station K.R.Z.I. 1580/1660 a.m. known as the “Gospel Train” for nearly 60 years, where he impacted the community and people all over the world in a powerful way. He was a devoted servant of God and hearing his powerful, smooth voice every Sunday morning will be greatly missed.

He leaves, to cherish his memory: four loving children, Sherry Montgomery Carauthers, Lola Montgomery, Bridget Montgomery (all of Waco Texas) and Roderick Montgomery of Dallas Texas. Four siblings, Wardell Montgomery (Kelly) of Sacramento California, Shirley Malone (Thomas), Donald Fred Montgomery of Waco Texas, and Beverly Cobb (Carey) of Dallas Texas.

18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, cousins, nephews.

    He was my usual Sunday morning cup of coffee. My mother whom has long been gone on to be with the Lord
    would always listen to his broadcast, she passed in 1995. “I can just imagine that ole Joe is walking around up
    there in Heaven”spreading the gospel….. Blessings to all
