Joseph (Joe) Pleasant Crenshaw, III, 71, of Waco, passed from this life on Monday, June 9, 2014.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 7PM Thursday, June 12th at Parkview Baptist Church in Waco. Come fellowship with the family from 5:30PM until service time.
Joe was a long time employee of Lake Air Lanes where he met so many of his life-long friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Pleasant and Clista Crenshaw of Lorena.
Survivors include his three sons, Joey and wife Renee of Waco; Mike and wife Sue of Dubuque, IA, and Steve of Waco; two brothers, Tim and wife Shana, and Bob and wife Jenny, all of Lorena; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family members and dear friends.

I’m very sorry to hear about Joe’s passing. We spent many years working together at Lake Air Lanes and had lots of good times and conversations. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Take care and God Bless all of You.

My condolences on your loss. Joe was a fine gentleman and a fine witness to Jesus Christ. I never will forget when once a young child of an employee was carried in with only dirty socks on Joe asked, “Where are that boys shoes?” (It was cold outside) When he was told he didn’t have any, Joe gave the girl some money and told her “Go and get that boy some shoes, socks, and a coat, come back and show me what you bought and I will have your check ready. He had the check ready, he also slipped some money in the envelope and told her “Now go and get both of you something to eat.”
Joey, Mike and Steve: I worked with your dad at Rocketdyne in the early 60’s. What a great guy, we had many a laugh
as we kept the “Rocket Shop” going back in Area M. He had the best imitation of “Curly Joe” of the Three Stooges. Have
not seen or spoken in 50 years. Joe and your mom had just married when I joined the Army. Sorry for your loss, relish
the memories.

Joe was our nephew. His mother, Clista, was an older sister to Wendell. When Pleasant and Clista lived in Wichita Falls in the 40’s, I was about 12; so I loved Joe and carried him around and played with him while my Mom taught Clista to crochet. They came to our house almost every day. He was such a beautiful sweet baby.
Had not seen Joe since his Mom, Clista, passed away. To his children, we are sorry for your loss. Wendell and I send our love and deepest sympathy especially to all his immediate family. We also are thinking about his brothers, Tim and Bob. We hear from Bob and Jenny at Christmas time and had pretty much lost touch with all of the others.

We are so sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. So many memories of Joe and his brothers at Hoover reunions especially. And of course, Joe’s little babies were just the cutest ever!
Again, so very sorry for your great loss….but we do pray for God’s comfort, strength, peace and comfort to Joe’s entire family.

To my Crenshaw Cousins:
I’m saddened to hear of Joe’s death. Many years have passed since Uncle Pleasant and Aunt Clista welcomed a 6 year old girl into their all male household for 2 weeks. Just 2 short weeks, but they made all the difference in my life at the time. Joe, Tim and Bob showed me love and consideration. I still have special memories of my time there, sleeping on the trundle in Aunt Clista’s room, playing dominoes with Mrs. Crenshaw, taking long walks with the family. Though I didn’t have the opportunity to visit with Joe alot in the last few years, I know that he was a wonderful man. My love and prayers to all.
