Jimmy Craig Godby, 43, of Crawford, passed peacefully on his journey to be with the Lord, Friday, January 4, 2013. A celebration to honor his life is set for 10am, Tuesday, January 8 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Brashear officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, January 7, from 6-8pm at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Jimmy was born on March 4, 1969 to Craig and Brenda Marie (Fields) Godby in Waco. He attended Crawford High School, graduating in 1987, and later attended MCC. Jimmy was loved by so many people. He relished in spoiling his niece and nephew, as well as his beloved dog, Benji. He loved to shop, listen to music, and hang out with friends and family. Jimmy will be remembered for his sweet spirit and radiant life.

He was preceded in death by his precious grandmother, Jewell Fields.

He is survived by his parents, Craig and Brenda Godby of Crawford; sister, April Engelbrecht and husband Kyle of Valley Mills; grandparents, Jimmy & Ruth Fields of Bellmead, and J.C. and Ruby Godby of Valley Mills; nephew, T.K. Engelbrecht of Valley Mills; niece, Lacee Engelbrecht of Valley Mills; his canine companion, Benji; and many other relatives and countless friends.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Krumm, Shane Shilling, Kevin Engelbrecht, Billy Schulz, Doug Patschke, and Jamey Boswell.
