Jerry Ray Boren, 74, of Waco, passed away suddenly Saturday, December 29, 2018.

Memorial Service: 1:00 PM Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Lake Shore Funeral Home with Pastor James Stevens officiating.

Jerry was born November 3, 1944, in Houston to John and Myrtlelou (Phillips) Boren.  He graduated from Irving High School in 1964 and went on to join the United States Army.  Jerry retired after 34 years as a Dallas Firefighter. He also worked as an EMT for 8 years. He loved motorcycle racing, cars and hotrods, and football.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Louise; and daughter, Jessica.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Catherine Moore Boren; grandson, Kyle L. Owens; brothers, Richard Boren, Howard Boren, and John Boren, Jr.; and sisters, Fay Rene Graf, Linda Boren, Alma Fay Boren, and Claudia Boren.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a memorial contribution in Jerry’s memory to Gholson VFD.
