Jennifer Susan Miller, 56, of China Spring, died peacefully Monday, March 2, 2020 after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband, family and friends.
Celebration of Life: Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering at 11:30 a.m., Friday, March 6, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, in Waco with the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating.
Burial: will have preceded the Celebration of Life service.
Jennifer was born November 21, 1963, in Waco, to Clifford and Wilma Johnson. She graduated from Midway High School and soon after graduated from TSTI. Jennifer had a successful career for many years in her family owned travel agency in Waco and afterwards went to work for a brief time at Visiting Angels. Jennifer was happily married to Herschel Miller for 30 years at the time of her death.
Jennifer is survived by her mother, Wilma Johnson; her husband, Herschel Miller; her two sons, Jeremy and Clifford Miller; her brother, Jim Johnson; her sister, Sandra Riley; nephews, Johnathan Riley and Bo Johnson; and her niece, Julie Everett.
Jennifer loved life to its fullest. She had a passion for traveling, attending sporting events and fishing with a cane pole from a stock tank. Her love and passion for her family was “the rock” that kept her family foundation strong. Jennifer was a true “warrior” for Christ. She was a five-year breast cancer survivor before she began a new battle with pancreatic cancer. Jennifer never lost her faith in Jesus Christ during her battles. She had a “never give up” spirit and complaints were never a part of her life. As she always said, “No cotton-pickin’ pity parties allowed here.” Jennifer had a calling for listening and caring for others. She could listen for hours and always helped in finding the answers or solutions to a problem. Jennifer had a bright and energetic personality and had the ability to sense when people needed her help. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. Truly, Jennifer was an inspiration for all who knew her. As Jennifer, also called “Moo Moo” by her boys, would say, “ Life is a journey, enjoy it, and along the way stop and eat a cupcake.”
The family wishes to thank Providence Hospice Care for its thoughtful service and tender care they gave family and Jennifer during her battle.

God bless you Jennifer. You have fought the good fight and now you are at peace with God. May God grant peace and comfort to your family.
We are heartbroken at this tragic loss. Jennifer was strong, courageous, fearless and spunky. She was consistently kind to us, and we are so sorry. We will be thinking of Herschel, Jeremy and Clifford. We know that she imparted many of her strengths and other qualities to her family, and that will help provide solace and consolation to all.
I will miss you “My Friend”. You always knew how to make me laugh when I thought my life was over. You always brought me back. You fought hard and never lost your sense of humor. I feel so blessed that I got to spend time with you still laughing and joking. I can only imagine when you stepped through the gates of Heaven! Jesus to greet you. With your Dad close by ! I pray Melis was there too “Cotton Picken” “come give me a hug” 🙂 You behave yourselves!

I had the pleasure of working with Jennifer at The Dwyer Group (now Neighborly) and she was a true joy & inspiration. I don’t think I ever saw her without a glowing smile on her face which was contagious. God has gained a wonderful Angel! May He bless you with peace and wonderful memories knowing she is in paradise and not in any pain. Our prayers are with your family and friends.

I will always remember Jennifer as laughing and smiling. She looked for the best in everyone. She will be missed. My condolences to the family.
When I think of Jennifer, I think first and foremost of the true love and dedication she had for her family. I always called her, “The Good Wife” because of her passionate love for you, Herschel. I think of how she always took care of you and Randy when you guys were umpiring, making sure you had drinks and snacks.
It was always so obvious you were the love of her life!
She loved her boys so much. Always so proud of Jeremy and Clifford and their accomplishments.
Jennifer was an inspiration to us all. From the way she cared for her family to the fighter she was against the cancers she faced.
Our lives are forever enriched by her love and friendship.

My wife and I were so blessed to have Herschel & Jennifer as our college Sunday school teachers at Western Heights Baptist & FBC Hewitt. I’ll always remember the amazing cinnamon and sugar muffins that Jennifer made every Sunday morning for our class as well as the game nights at Herschel & Jennifer’s house. Herschel, Jennifer & the boys became family to us. Herschel, Jeremy, & Clifford, I am so sorry for your loss. Brynn & I are grieving with y’all. Blake & I were so sorry to hear this news.
Herschel, I can’t even begin to state how sorry I am to hear of this. Jennifer was a jewel and someone I was proud to call “friend”. My prayer is that God will give you and yours the peace and comfort needed at this time. I know she and Clifford are getting caught up on all things “cotton pickin”.

My Condolences, my prayers are with the family
Working with Jennifer at The Dwyer Group made our days fun and filled with laughs. Her office had the constant smell of chocolate from her candle warmer. I always left her office hungry (from the smell of chocolate) and happy from spending time with her. Jennifer was a hot mess, literally. That girl was on fire, always telling jokes and making people laugh. She certainly knew how to own a room, for the better. I’m thankful for the time I had with her and thankful for all of the wonderful memories that you have to look forward to. Praying that your family feels God’s loving arms wrapped around you and knowing the Jennifer is by His side. Love and prayers for your all…

Herschel , your boys, my prayers are with yall. I read a thank you note a while back that touched me, following Jack Johnsons passing , his mom sent out thank you notes, this is what it said, I am so lucky Jack picked me to be his mom. Jennifer blessed you and your boys , when she picked yall.

This is a wonderful tribute to Jennifer’s cane pole fishing life. I didn’t know her but I see where she did many Komen Races for the Cure. As a Survivor myself as well as the Campaign Manager for the Waco, Tyler and Austin Walks, I’ll continue to work to help us reaching our Bold Goal of reducing breast cancer deaths by 50 percent by 2020. So sorry to hear about to hear this, I loved her so much, but she is up there with Jesus and no longer in pain. She was such a sweet lady and always smiling she will truly be missed. Praying for the family.
