Burial: Oakwood Cemetery

Jeffrey Don Wood was born on September 30, 1966, in Waco, to Sherril Don Wood and Rosa Juanita Morales Wood. Jeffrey was raised in Waco and Robinson, where he proudly graduated from Robinson High School in 1985. He was passionate about sports, Jeffrey particularly enjoyed football and track. Proudly, in high school, he was the first male student enrolled in the Home Making class for all four years. There, along with his mother, Rosa, is where he found his lifelong passion for cooking. From a young age, if there was a kitchen to be found, you would find Jeff and Rosa in it.

Professionally, Jeffrey spent five years as a Supervisor at the Coors Distribution Center, then he owned and operated Real Promotions before moving on to a fulfilling role at Halo Branded Solutions. He thrived in phone sales, assisting family members and friends along the way. As a result, many in the family now proudly use Verizon phones.

On June 1, 1991, Jeffrey married Pamela Paris, and together they welcomed their daughter, Ashton, into their lives. Although the union ended, the two of them built a friendship that lasted through the years. Later, he formed a meaningful partnership with Carolyn and cherished her daughters as part of his extended family.

In his leisure time, Jeffrey found joy in outdoor activities like hunting and fishing, as well as playing golf and barbecuing with friends. He was a dedicated coach, teaching Ashton and others the art of running hurdles. He thoroughly enjoyed his time working the bingo games at Melody Ranch, he loved to call out numbers, sell pull tabs and cards, and, most importantly, gain new friendships. A creative soul, Jeffrey took pride in mounting hunting trophies in his home, reflecting his love for nature and adventure. He also enjoyed pitching washers and socializing with close friends. A favorite story of Ashton and Pam’s is Jeff reminiscing about the countless hours he spent with Ashton in a 4×6 deer stand, witnessing several ‘firsts’, creating lifelong memories and cherishing every moment together. To him, that was priceless and something he would always treasure.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Juanita Wood-Ash; and stepbrother, Toby Brink.

He is survived by his daughter, Ashton Wood (Julio Cezar De Souza); father, Sherril Don Wood; sister, Julie Beasley; niece, Sheril Dawn Niemann (Mark); nephew, Christopher Marek; great niece, Parker Marek; and bonus children, Morgan Cieri and Shelby Whitworth.

Jeffrey’s vibrant personality and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In Jeff’s honor, memorial contributions can be made to JMB Fishing Foundation, who provide memorable hunting and fishing adventures to sick and terminally ill children.

  8. Angie and Mac McLaughlin

I’ll never forget the first time i met Jeff. I ca’t really repeat what he said here but you can bet it was funny. Jeff and i were neighbors. He came by often when my wife Angie and I would be sitting outside. We will surely miss him.

  9. Julie, I’m so sorry about Jeff’s passing. I was thinking about when we lived just a door apart on Billington street. We had the Springers at the corner then us, then the Krafts house and your parents place with that big shade tree in front of your house was next door to the Krafts. I remember Jeff riding bikes with us at the end of Billington, we called them the Willy hills until they built those houses at the end. Those houses took away some fun until we all found new Willy hills. Beetle
