Jeffery Bucher

Jeffery Bucher passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022.

Memorial Service: 2pm Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel

Jeffery was born Jeffery Charles Bucher on August 1, 1998 in San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Jeff and Ruth Bucher. They lived in San Antonio until October of 2003, when they moved to Waco, TX where they made it their home.

Jeffery started school at La Vega until his Freshman year of high school when he transferred and graduated from China Spring High School. He worked at Big Creek Construction, Rent-A -Center, and recently started a career at Packless Industries with his dad and brother-in-law. He was an active Volunteer Fire Fighter at Downsville Volunteer Fire Department.  This is when he finally made his life decision to become a football coach and Fire Fighter. He was so excited to finally live out his dreams and do what he loves.

Putting Jeffery’s life on paper would take so many sheets and way too many words. He is such an amazing young man, with a heart that was so big, and beautiful.  When he loved you, he loved you. Loved you for who you were and where you were. He never judged anyone.  He would do anything for anyone at any time as long as he was able to.  He loved his  niece, nephews,  cousins, aunt, uncle, and had such amazing relationships with everyone in our family. He couldn’t wait to teach his nephews all about football and share his love of the game with them.

Jeffery is survived by his parents, Jeff and Ruth Bucher, his sister, Caryn Lodge, brother-in-law, Xavier Lodge, his niece, Jazlyn Bucher, nephews, Jeremih Bucher and Jo’Ziah Lodge, Xavier Lodge Jr., his aunt and uncle, Dennisa and Mike Poling, his cousins, David Villalobos, Alexander Poling and wife, Rachel Poling, Justin Poling and wife, Victoria Poling, Zack Poling, Kristianna Bucher, Theodore Poling, Calla Poling and Rosalee Poling and Arya Bender, his lifelong best friend, Mark Jones, his girlfriend,  Emily Galindo, and our chosen family,  Tammy McKinley,  Andy Hampton and Allie Hampton,  all of who he loved and adores.

He is proceeded in death by his grandpa’s, Clarence “Butch” Butchert, Charles “Charlie” Bucher, grandma’s LaDell “Dale” Butchert and Linda Bucher, great niece, Charlotte Poling.

We will always value and cherish him for the man he was becoming and the amazing man he will always be.

In lieu of flowers,  please donate to his future Backflip Foundation Fund which will help young athletes who are less fortunate to be able to play youth sports and help a local are high schooler with a scholarship in Jeffery’s name to be able to attend the Fire Academy. Please reach out to his mom or sister for assistance with that.

Jeff and Ruthie, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I remember Jeffrey from his toddler years and thinking about how strong and loving he was so many years ago. I am sure as he has grown through the years his traits have remained the same. Always hold onto the memories you have and he will forever live in your heart.

Jeff and Ruth, I’m so sorry for your loss. Jeffrey was a wonderful young man. He was so full of love and he really enjoyed teaching and explaining about things that people didn’t always understand and he had the patience. I remember the first time I met him and he was 2 years old and already knew how to dribble a basketball. I was in awe with him and he has been a true blessing to me. I know he’s in heaven and probably talking to Jody and Cindy. He will truly be missed. I love y’all.
