James (Jim) Smalley, 62, of Hewitt, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2008. Private graveside services will be held at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Temple.
Jim is survived by his brother, Richard Smalley.

To my Uncle, you will always be loved and remembered. I will never forget all the good times I had as a child. You were always by my side teaching me various things about science and nature. You also were filled with many stories I enjoyed hearing about. I’m sure because of all this, it lead to my thirst of knowledge that I have today. I am very fortunate to have had you as my uncle. During his life time, Jim overcame several disabilities, graduated from college with a degree in science and made his contriubution to the world. Those of us who new Jim, could definitely say that he "Did it his way". May he rest in peace and always be with God.
