James Robert Oden, 61, of West Monroe, LA, formerly of Waco, passed away Monday, July 21st at his home. Memorial services will be 10AM Friday, August 1, 2008 at Parkview Baptist Church with Dr. John W. Collier officiating. Private inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Jim was born on February 2, 1947 in Longview to Clifford Embree and Louise (Lightfoot) Oden. He graduated from Garland High School. He also was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Jim was a library book salesman for Gum Drop Books of Bethany, MO and played an instrumental role in the donation gift of $15,000 worth of new books to Parkview Christian Academy. He loved his church, his family and his church family dearly.

Jim was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include mother, Louise Oden; sister, Virginia Collier; brothers, John David Oden and Michael Wayne Oden; and several nieces and nephews.
