On October 8, 2019, Reverend JE Jean, 83, passed away. The world lost a great man, a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a gentle soul, a patient, loving and kind husband and beloved friend.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Friday, October 11 at Lake Shore Funeral Home

Funeral Services: 9:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12 at Lake Shore Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Gerald Cemetery.
To celebrate his life, and in honor of his favorite color, we encourage attendees to the services to wear purple.

He was born November 10, 1935 in Yale County, Arkansas to George and Susan Jean.  JE grew up and went to school in Yale Creek, Arkansas and Lamesa, Texas. He met Ginger in Lamesa, and they were married in 1957. A devoted Christian his entire life, he began preaching in 1971. He moved to Waco and established Connally Free Will Baptist Church in 1976, where he served as pastor until the time of his death. He worked for the Connally Independent School District for 28 years, doing building maintenance, until he retired in 2000. He enjoyed chatting with loved ones, cars, western movies, and playing the guitar. He loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, George and Susan Jean; brother, JL Jean; and son, Ricky Jean.

He is survived by his wife, Ginger Treadwell-Jean; sons, Jackie Jean and wife Barbara, Terry Jean and Mike Trevinson, and Steve Jean and wife, Gena; sister, Ava Lee Hallmark; granddaughters, Melany Jean, Typhani Jean, Krystal Cehand and husband, Cayle, and Ashley Jackson; grandsons, Jacob Jean, Caleb Jean, and Sean Prisco and wife Danielle; great-grandchildren, Abrianna, Ryan, Callie, Braxton, and Emarie; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

I had the honor of caring for JE during his prior illness and for myself and my staff, we will greatly miss him, our talks, his humor, and his love of his fellow man.
