Iris Jeneen DuBose, lovingly known as “Jenny”, departed this earthly life on July 30, 2016 at Hillcrest Hospital. Born in Waco, Texas on January 19, 1971, Jenny grew up and attended schools in Waco and then (for two years) in Denton, Texas. Jenny loved learning and though she had dyscalculia she always worked hard in her studies and received good grades. After the family moved back to Waco, Jenny received her high school diploma and entered McLennan Community College where she received an Associate of Arts degree. Jenny would go on to graduate from the University of North Texas in Denton with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology. She went on to work as an instructor in the Dallas
Independent School District, as a Case Manager with MHMR in Waco, Texas, and as a Case Manager for Cigma Insurance.

Although she was quiet and reserved, Jenny had a close knit group of friends/family and enjoyed social outings with them. she was always ready for a serious discussion about any topic, but social issues and politics were the ones nearest and dearest to her heart. She grew up loving to read (biography, history, atlases and travel books were among her favorites). Because Jenny enjoyed current events, following world news, and had a deep sense of social justice, it was only natural that following social issues and politics would become her favorite thing to do. Jenny was a loving and caring family member but not many of her siblings, cousins, nieces or nephews can ever brag about how Jenny baked them cookies or cakes or prepared a special meal for them! But they all knew that she loved them unconditionally! Jenny’s brother, Ahmad, and sister, Denise, preceded her in death.

Left to cherish Jenny’s memory are her loving parents, Ramsey and Bettie V. Beard, James and Lavern DuBose; her siblings, Dory (Lumina), Michael, Nathan, Orancle, Adrienne, Angie, Denean, Ashley, and Simone; nieces nephews, Bria, Myesha, Dominique, Daytin, Abigail, Ciara, Felicity, Avarie, Davante, Tequila, Brian, Little Nate; Uncles, Larry Howard, Onnie Kirk (Margienell), Charles Lee, Frank Lee (Susan), Sam Kirk (Cynthia), Craig Lee, Victor Lee (Karen), Kevin Lee (Lucinda); Aunts, Barbara Kirk, Gayonna Miles (lester), Brenda Harrison (Herman), Linda Kirk, And a host of other loving relatives and friends.
