Henry W. Raglin

Henry W. Raglin, 88, passed away October 2, 2019.

Service Information: Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12,
at One Fellowship United Methodist Church, 1005 Lasalle Ave, in Waco.

Mr. Henry William Raglin I, “HW#1” as he so fondly called himself, was the fifth child born to Lester and Ada Sanders Raglin and was born on April 18, 1931 in Groesbeck, Texas.  He grew up in Groesbeck and attended Dennis Chapel United Methodist Church where he was baptized at an early age.  Mr. Raglin later graduated from Blackshear High School in the Class of 1948.  Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in places such as Colorado, Japan, Germany and finally Fort Hood.

He married his high school sweetheart, Emmaline Roberson, and to this union three children were born.

After 22 years in the Army, Mr. Raglin retired and moved the family to Waco, TX.  While in Waco, he worked for the VA Regional Office until his retirement in 1985.  He was an avid golfer and a Life Member of the VFW Post 8564, where he often called bingo.  He was also a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church which later became One Fellowship United Methodist Church.  He remained a member there until his passing.

Preceding Mr. Raglin in death are his parents; his wife; his children, Brenda A. Robinson, Billie J. Brown and Xenobia Brown; his brothers, Harry, L. Raglin, Frank L. Raglin, Wilmer L. Raglin and RJ Raglin; and his sisters, Mary M. Shelby and Patsy A. Beasley.

He leaves to cherish his memory, grandchildren, Henry W. (Ferlisa), Raglin II and Tamara D. Robinson of Waco; great-grandchildren, Shuntay Raglin and Xavier Harris of Waco and Dontay Raglin of Abilene; brother-in-law, Weldon A.D. (Darby) Roberson of Waco, sisters-in-law, Alice R. Thompson of Groesbeck, Ella Roberson of Marlin, and Lizzie Roberson of Cedar Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

I always enjoyed sharing Bible truths with Mr. Raglin! He would make sure we stayed on our toes and was a joy! My condolences to the family!

I will surely miss my Uncle Henry. He was quite the character, I always enjoyed visiting with him and getting into debates with him. He was the last of my father’s siblings. Praying for my family.
