Henry S. Witt, Sr., 87, of Axtell, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 3, 2022 at his residence.

Visitation: 6 – 8PM Tuesday, March 15 at Lake Shore Funeral Home.

Graveside Service: 3 PM, Wednesday, March 16 at St. Joseph Cemetery, in Elk.

Henry Witt was born December 18, 1934, at home in rural McLennan County to parents, Nathaniel Witt, Sr. and Amie Mae (Loyd) Witt.  He attended Ross and West schools.  He operated dairies for most of his working life; then, he started and ran his own trucking business until he retired at the age of 74.  He was a life-long farmer and loved working on farming equipment. “Balin’ wire and duct tape can fix anything.” He married Robin Roberts April 20, 1981.  Together, they enjoyed travelling, especially taking cruises and making trips to Branson.  He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, N.C. Witt and Robert Witt; daughter, Dorothy Schaefer; son, Ricky Roberts; and granddaughter, Melanie Smith.

He is survived by wife of 41 years, Robin Witt; daughters, Rebecca Parsons and husband Stuart, Sr., Connie Haggard and husband  Andy, Lacy Hollingsworth and husband Josh, and Regina Lopez and husband Mark; sons, Henry Witt, Jr. and Amanda, Dennis Witt and wife Debra; daughter-in-law, Amanda Roberts; grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, Steven Gilmore, Tyler LaFrance, John LaFrance, Robert LaFrance, Henry Witt, III., Colby Witt, Lenny Witt, Emily Witt, Tenley Witt, Katie Witt, Henley Witt, Ashley McGaughey, Jase Hollingsworth, Landry Hollingsworth, Devin Lopez, Corbin Lopez, Payton Roberts, Ricky Witt, Scottie Witt, Solon Schaefer, and Cathy Fenske; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; sister, Amie Davis and husband Ken;  honorary daughters, Amy Walding and husband John, Nicki Jo Hutchison, and Angela Hudson.
