Helen Verine “Sweet Thang” Talton – Davis, 69, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021.

Service Information: Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, at Lake Shore Funeral Home. Limited capacities will be observed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Reflections of Life

Helen Verine Talton – Davis, also known as “Sweet Thang”,  was born to Reuben & Elcola Talton in El Paso, TX. Later the family relocated to Waco, TX where she attended and graduate from A.J. Moore High School. After graduating, Helen went on to work at Big J sewing factory for many years where she became a very talented seamstress. She traveled and visited many states and always encouraged others to get out and see the world too. Later in life she received her certification in Childhood Development and taught at E.O.A.C. for many years until her retirement.

After retirement she always stayed busy doing things she loved. Whether it was being a seamstress, a notary, or crafter she would always have a project in the works. Her one true passion was the love she had for her daughter, Tynicca Davis.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben & Elcola Talton; brothers, Billy, Harrell, Edward, and Thomas Talton; sister, Connie Talton Dunaway and brother-in-law, Roosevelt Wilson.

Those left with fond memories: daughter, Tynicca Davis of Waco,TX,  and her father Ronald Davis of Columbia, SC; aunts Darlene Brinkley of Moffett,TX and Jessie Griffin- Freeman of Robinson,TX; brother, Bruce & Evelyn Talton of Waco, TX; sisters, Ruth Brooks of Waco,TX, Patricia Wilson of Chesapeake, VA, LaShenta Talton of Waco, TX, and Eunicca Talton of Waco, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews, great-great niece and nephews and other loving family members and friends.
