Hazel Inez Walker, 82, of Waco, passed away Thursday, June 26th at a local hospital. Services will be 10am Saturday, June 28th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephen Ramsdell and Rev. Jamie Starks officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8pm Friday at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend, Waco. Hazel was born April 16, 1926 in Johnson County to Alton Guy and Susie Laveda (Strickland) London. She married Homer Walker on November 19, 1948 in Dallas. She lived in Hutchins for thirty-eight years and was very involved in her community and always helping others. Hazel was also very involved in her church, Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Lancaster. She really loved life. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother. Hazel loved cooking and would care and minister to those in need. She moved to Waco in 1998. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waco.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Wade London.

Survivors include husband of fifty-nine years, Homer Walker of Waco; daughters, Vickie Hubacek and husband, Anthony of Mt. Enterprise, Sheila Stewart and husband, Joe of China Spring; sons, Gary Walker and wife, Mary of Tehuacana, Jim Walker and wife, Christi of China Spring; grandchildren, Jamie Hubacek and wife, Denice of Mt. Enterprise, Tennessee Walker and fiancé’, Lauren Fletcher of Ft. Worth, Shannon Stewart, Jordan Walker, Lauren Walker, and Jacob Stewart, all of China Spring; and great grandson, Jake Hubacek of Mt. Enterprise; and brother, Bobby London and wife, Nancy of Seven Points.

Pallbearers will be Tony D. Tanton, Rick Mayton, Allen Wayne Mayton, Ronnal London, Kyle Walker, and Harold York. Honorary pallbearers will be Tennessee Walker and Jamie Hubacek.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Waco.

Hazel was the ultimate mother. Her family was and I’m sure continued to be the most important thing in her life. I always loved to go to their house or to the lake house at cedar creek way back when. I was always made to feel welcome and I always felt to be very much a part of their family.
