Harry Dean Barak

Harry Dean Barak, 67, of Waco, passed away Friday, January 17th from injuries sustained from an automobile accident.

Memorial Service: 3PM Monday, January 20, 2020 at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel.

Harry was born June 17, 1952 in Waco to Emil and Mary Nell Barak. He attended LaVega schools. He was employed with Wolfe Florist for many years before becoming a mason and building a business with his brother, Larry. Harry enjoyed riding and working on Harley-Davidson motorcycles with his brother and many friends. At one time he completely dismantled a Harley and then rebuilt it to proudly ride again. He and Larry also enjoyed racing cars.

Harry recently adopted his best buddy, Rooster from Fuzzy Friends. Rooster is going to miss those Christi’s Hamburgers they often shared.

Harry cherished his daughter Sarah and his grandson, James Peyton, with whom he loved to act silly and make jokes. James Peyton was “Pawpaw’s Boy.” Sarah enjoyed making Sunday dinner for both Harry and his twin, Larry. If you did something for one, you did it for both because they were inseparable; and Larry is like a father to Sarah as well. Needless to say, Harry and Larry had a bond like no other.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; and by his one true love, Debbie Bohannan- she was the love of his life.

Survivors include daughter, Sarah Barak; grandson, James Peyton Pfleiderer; twin brother, Larry Barak; sister, Velma Volcik (Danny); brother, James Barak (Sharon); brother, Billy Jack Barak (Brenda); sister, Brenda Sulak (J.R.); sister, Judy Ray (Randall); sister, Marilyn Anderson (Paul); sister, Carolyn Woodard; nieces and nephews, Douglas, Michael, Shelly, Shana, J.R., Alicia, Serena, Amanda, BJ, Keith, Kevin, Kelli, Tonya, Kaci, Lindsey, Brandon, Joseph, Jeffrey, and “special niece,” Emily; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Tye, Sammy Tullos, Danny Bishop, and Rhett Domangue.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or Fuzzy Friends Rescue.

The family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Emergency Trauma Team, Surgical ICU, doctors including Dr. Cahill and Dr. Wright, nurses and staff.

Place of Service: Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel , 5201 Steinbeck Bend; Waco, TX 76708
