Gus was born August 25, 1933 to Reinhold and Bertha (Strouch) Weise in Madison County, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his two nephews, Gary Krueger and wife Michele of Valley Mills and Michael Krueger and wife Margie of Clifton; two great-nephews, John Krueger of valley Mills and William McCoy and wife Daylynn of Valley Mills; three great-nieces, Molly Krueger of Valley Mills, Hope Krueger of Valley Mills, and Millie Todd and husband James of Valley Mills; as well as numerous cousins.
