Gloria Salinas Goins, of Waco, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017.

Gloria was born August 7, 1950, to Avaristo Garcia, Sr. and Paula Salinas Garcia.

She lost her long-fought battle with Alzheimer’s dementia. Her legacy of love touched many hearts. She opened her home and life to many children, homeless people and elderly people who suffered the same disease of Alzheimer’s. Gloria loved the Lord with her life and poured Him into others. She felt her call to ministry as being a “mother” to the motherless and those less nurtured. Her legacy of love will continue to carry on in each person’s life that she touched.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; and one infant brother, Avaristo, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Eddie Ray Goins, Sr.; sons, Eddie Ray Goins, Jr., and wife, Kathrine, Martin Goins and wife, Heather, David Pritchard and wife, Lorena, James Haidar and wife, Chrissy; daughters, Sandra Lynn Hill and husband, Chad, and Carla Rosales; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and eight brothers, Avaristo III, Israel, Martin, Albert, Tony, Peter, Paul and Michael.

Memorial service: 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24th at the New Covenant Life Church in McGregor.

Condolence Messages

  1. Eddie, Sandy and family, I am so, so sorry. I know this journey has been long and hard but I also know that you would take a whole lifetime of caring for Gloria in exchange for this time without her. Illness doesn’t exhaust our love, it only stirs it and makes it more sure than ever. We will miss Gloria and will hold you in our prayers as you adjust to life without her. Wwhile you grieve for her, rejoice, knowing that you will unite with her again, a reunion never to be broken. God be with you. Much love, Sue Arnett.
