Visitation: 6 to 8PM Tuesday, October 13th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.

Gloria was born August 16, 1961 in Waco.

Our mother Gloria was truly one of a kind. There are so many ways to describe the wonderful woman our mother was. Those of you who she crossed paths with her throughout her walk in life and were touched by her loving ways in one way or another have been left with a special part of our mom, a personal memory of your own to cherish till you see her again. Her testimony was powerful, she gave people strength that had no hope, she encouraged them to believe that with God all things are possible and she was proof of that, a genuine miracle. Every time that our mom would be released from the hospital she was ready to head straight to church to praise God for her healing. We will never forget her beautiful voice, she truly sounded like an angel. She would sing to the Lord from her heart and her grace she wore with pride, mom was truly one of a kind. She was strong in her faith, a mighty prayer warrior. Momma was so loving and kind hearted to everyone. She was always quick to show compassion to those who were in need with no hesitation. Our mother always made sure to let her light shine over her children and grand babies, she always wanted let them know that they were loved and to never feel lonely. Mom was always willing to lend a helping hand, she was always there and never expected anything in return. She also loved cooking, she truly could cook the best food ever. Our mom was so humble, even though there were times she didn’t have, she would always find a way to give to those in need, she would say “The good Lord placed it in my heart” or “this is just the way I am” and again never expecting anything in return. She could love anyone who wanted to be loved or willing to accept her love, once you accepted her love you were family no matter what. She was a true fighter with her illness. She would always say “I’m not going to give up”. The word says “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7) is all her. She was so brave. Mom was a great example of how others in the world should be. She will be missed so dearly, but her legacy will live on forever.

– We love you, Momma.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. Guadalupe and Tomasita Gutierrez, mother, Tommie Rodriguez.

Survivors include her children, Julian Rios, Jr. and wife Diane, Rafaela Lara and husband Charles, and Veronica Guardiola and husband Johnathan; grandchildren, Genesis, Desalynn, Angela, Willie, Nicholas, Rainique, Xaniya, and Ezra; great grandchildren, Izzy and Sonny; brothers, Charles Rodriquez and wife Beatrice, Albert Rodriguez and wife Carol, and Johnny Rivera.

Pallbearers will be Ramiro Osoria, Frederico Garcia, Rosco Balderas, Jose’ Lopez, Noah Gutierrez, Victor Enriquez, Fernando Contrerras and Julian Rios, Jr.

The family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to the medical staff at Baylor- Scott and White in Temple, all family and friends for your prayer and support, especially Gloria Rojo, Katy Powell, Emma Pullen and Lourdes Arevalos.
