Gary Wade, 65, of China Spring, passed away Saturday, February 1st at his residence. Memorial services will be 3PM Wednesday, February 5th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco with Pastor Kerry Groce officiating. Gary was born July 8, 1948 near Mobile, Alabama to Albert Carl and Virgie (Robinson) Wade. He graduated from University High School in 1966. He married Rachel Harcrow on January 19, 1970 in Waco. He worked as a lineman and a manager for 25 years for TP&L and TU Electric, retiring in 1996. He then worked for TSTC for nine years as an electrician. Gary loved his family dearly, treasured the love of his life Rachel Ann, and was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to so many that were fortunate to be part of his life. He enjoyed sitting on his porch swing, riding his motorcycle, working on cars, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He also adored his dog, Flash.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Carl Wade; and brother, Ed Wade.

Survivors include wife of 44 years, Rachel Wade; daughter, Amy Perkins and husband Dale of China Spring; son, Tim Wade and wife Laurie of China Spring; six grandchildren, Cody Perkins, Cade Perkins, Hunter Culpepper, Holdan Culpepper, Hailey Wade, and Aiden Wade; mother, Virgie Armstrong of Waco; brother, Steve Wade and wife Kay of Waco; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

    I met him in 2007, when I married into the family his nephew Jeffery. Gary was the type of man always willing to lend a helping hand. a very good cook he enjoyed grilling BBQ for the family reunion every year.Enjoyed traveling and one of his greatest loves was his wife, kids, grand kids, etc. I wish there were more people like him. Uncle Gary you will truly be missed, we love you and can’t wait to see you one day soon.
